OSIPP coordinated its Annual Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Countering Proliferation Financing (CPF) Training. Those participating included senior managers and other administrative professionals responsible for governance, regulatory oversight, and the day-to-day management of the organization, to enhance their understanding of AML/CFT/CPF requirements and strengthen compliance practices across the sector.

OSIPP hosted its third Annual Pension Administrators’ Forum under the theme “Financial Disclosure: Complete Reports, Effective Oversight”. The forum aimed to engage trustees and pension professionals in focused discussions to strengthen administrative practices and underscore the importance of transparency and accountability in pension administration.

Our objective in participating in the Organization of Insurance Companies of Belize (ORINCO) Anniversary Market Day was to highlight OSIPP’s role in regulating and supporting the insurance sector, showcase the benefits and protections offered by various insurance and pension plans, and introduce the microinsurance regulatory framework as an innovative tool to advance financial inclusion.

OSIPP joined the National Agriculture & Trade Show in Belmopan from May 30 to June 1, 2025, under the theme “Integrating Sustainable Food Systems: Mitigating climate Change, Strengthening Agricultural Resilience”. At the trade show, OSIPP spoke with members of the agricultural community about the importance of insurance and pensions in protecting income and planning for the future.

OSIPP participated in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Roadshow, which took place across various districts. These engagements provided an opportunity to empower MSMEs in Belize to recognize and utilize insurance as a risk management tool, fostering resilience and long-term financial stability.

OSIPP hosted its second annual Pension Administrators Forum under the theme “Safeguarding Retirement: A Vision of Trust, Governance and Resilience.” The forum included discussions on investment opportunities in Belize, retirement planning, and the responsibilities of administrators in ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting the long-term financial security of pension contributors.

OSIPP hosted an Anti-Money Laundering Enterprise Risk Assessment (AML ERA) training session for the Insurance and Private Pensions Sectors at the Black Orchid Resort in Burrell Boom. The training session was attended by 38 participants who represented both sectors. During the training, participants learnt the importance of conducting an AML ERA, the components in developing its methodology, and conducted a practical exercise in identifying, analyzing, and risk rating potential risk factors and threats to its organizations.

The Office of the Supervisor of Insurance & Private Pensions held its very first Anti Money Laundering/Combating Finance Terrorist/Countering Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/CPF) sensitization session with Pension Administrators. Participants were briefed on the Money Laundering & Terrorism (Prevention) Act (MLTPA) and all the obligations that fall under the revised Act.
